Steven Shapiro

Throughout my career as a CPA, my goal has been to give my clients a strategy to help them successfully manage their cash flow. When I established Steven L. Shapiro, CPA, in 1995, I took my experience as an auditor, controller, supervisor, vice president and senior manager at accountancy firms and corporations and put it into action helping my clients build stronger, more successful businesses. Today I offer accounting and consulting services to a diverse clientele that includes franchisors, manufacturers, distributors, professionals, service providers and individuals.

To make certain my clients get the support they need, when they need it, I provide bookkeeping, tax planning, and income tax preparation services, as well as audits, reviews and compilations of client’s finances. In addition, I am a QuickBooks Pro Advisor, which means I have taken additional training and have passed a certification exam in order to give my clients and their employees a better understanding of their QuickBooks program.

As an added-value service, my clients can take advantage of my many years of computer expertise, giving them help on the design, networking and upgrading of their computer systems, as well as the installation of software programs and training. To meet the needs of various industries, I work with several computer software programs including:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Microsoft Visio
  • TValue Amortization Software
  • MAS90, Peachtree for Windows, Quicken, QuickBooks
  • Various other programs

I also provide training for clients and their staff on any of the above listed programs.

Originally from the great state of New Jersey, I headed west to attend the University of Denver where I received my BA in Business Administration. Eventually I moved to California and completed my accounting education at UCLA and CSUN.

Hobbies include:

  • Scuba diving
  • White water rafting
  • Gourmet cooking
  • Expertise on wine and scotch.

I believe in giving back to my community and am, or have been involved in several groups:

  • Woodland Hills Chapter of JNET (President)
  • Board of Directors of Shomrei Torah Synagogue (Trustee)
  • Men's Club at Shomrei Torah Synagogue (Treasurer) CCH-HOA (Treasurer)
  • Former Chair, Co-Chair and Treasurer at The Foundation for Pierce College.
